NY ORTHOPEDICS is a group of Fellowship trained physicians who provide state of the art treatment in musculoskeletal care including sports medicine, joint, hand and spine surgery as well as general orthopedics and trauma. Our surgeons specialize in minimally invasive techniques including arthroscopic and microscopic surgery.

While more detailed biographies can be found in "Our Physicians," here is a brief introduction to our medical staff.

Dr. Nicholas is the Founder and current Director of NY ORTHOPEDICS. He also holds the position of Director of NISMAT, the Nicholas Institute for Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma at Lenox Hill Hospital. A skilled surgeon, Dr. Nicholas is actively involved in expanding the frontier of orthopedic research in the treatment of sports related injuries. He has treated professional, collegiate and amateur athletes and has recently been selected to the prestigious American Orthopaedic Association.

Dr. Lee, the Associate Director of NISMAT, combines his skill in hand and upper extremity surgery with his expertise in sports medicine.   He specializes in the treatment of the most complex disorders in orthopaedic surgery.  He continues to push the frontiers of orthopaedics through his efforts and publications in research.

Dr. Rodriguez is the Chief of Reconstruction Arthroplasty and the Director of the Arthroplasty Fellowship Program at Lenox Hill Hospital. He is widely recognized as a specialist in joint replacement and revision surgery as well as the treatment of traumatic and developmental conditions of the hip and knee.

Dr. Matusz is a spine surgeon who specializes in the treatment of complex spinal disorders.

Dr. Riegler is heading up the NYO Pain Center. He is a board certified anesthesiologist who specializes in regional anesthesia as applied to the field of orthopedics and sports medicine.

Additionally, their work with the Nicholas Institute for Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma has enabled our surgeons to be actively involved in orthopedic research.  They have published numerous peer reviewed articles and have presented their research at many national and international meetings.
