José A Rodriguez MD is the Chief of Reconstruction Arthroplasty and the Director of Arthroplasty Fellowship Program at Lenox Hill Hospital. He is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of traumatic and developmental conditions of the hip and knee. Dr. Rodriguez is skilled in arthroscopy, total joint replacement and revisions as well as fracture surgery.
He has published numerous scientific articles including those pertaining to surgery for rheumatoid arthritis, total hip and knee reconstructions and the treatment of adolescent hip disorders. Dr. Rodriguez is involved in ongoing scientific research investigating the mechanisms of wear of the articulating surfaces of total hip replacements, the process of bony adaptation to implants and the arthroscopic treatment of conditions of the hip.
Dr. Rodriguez is originally from New York City and received his undergraduate degree from Harvard. He completed his medical school education at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and his residency training at Hospital for Special Surgery.
He has completed two Fellowship programs. One at Lenox Hill Hospital for arthritis surgery and joint reconstruction and the other at the University of Berne, Switzerland for the surgical treatment of fractures.
Dr. Rodriguez speaks Spanish fluently.
